Archive for the ‘used digital slr cameras cheap’ Category

I have been using my canon eos rebel K2 film SLR since I’ve needed to in photography and beyond and well buying film and constantly developing it is a hassle and cost lots of money. So I’ve decided that in the long it would be cheaper to Get a DSLR and it has many more advantages.

The problem is I don’t know what to get. I would like my DSLR to have many good features that I would actually use and not just useless ones for begginers but i’d also like for it to be cheap such as for around 500 to 700 dollars 800 at the most.

Some cameras I have looked at are the Canon T1i Sony a500 and 550, plus multiple Nikons.
So i guess I’ve narrowed it down to
The Canon T1i and T2i
Nikon D5000
Sony a500 or 550

I’ve liked the other suggested cameras their just way outta my price range.

Thnx for any help.

I want to buy a digital SLR camera in the near future. I’ve used one before, but all I have is a point-and-shoot. I’m a student, not a professional, and I don’t need the best camera on the market by any means. What is a good, affordable brand or model for a "first SLR"?

Another thing is that if I cannot afford a brand new camera, I might look into buying a used one. Would you advise against this? If not, what is a good place to get a nice used, camera?

I’ve always loved photography and have used a Canon Rebel (film) camera before, but am just now beginning to truly study it in depth and understand more about this art. What would be a good (and hopefully relatively cheap) digital slr camera to start off with?
Thanks in advance :]

I have a canon powershot digital camera SD770 & I was looking into the SLRs.. I’m not a professional photographer, but I would like to step it up with photography… get my pictures more crisp, better quality, all the while using an easy camera..

So I was looking at the cheaper Nikons.. d40 or the d60…
are the pictures that come out of these cameras a lot better than a good digital camera like the one I have?

Any advice in general?

I am trying to get into a good school for communications, and I found the school that I really want to get into. The problem is that they expect us to own a digital SLR camera for one eight week class.

I got online and comparison shopped, and found out that I can’t get anything that has the lens for less than 0! I’ll only be using it eight weeks! I’m not a photographer, and I’m horrible at taking pictures. Yes, I’ve used a DSLR, and it didn’t help…but I need one for this class. So, I have a few questions:

First, and I know it sounds like I’m trying to "cheat my way out", but I’m not. Can they really tell if I’m using an SLR camera as opposed to one of the point and shoots with retractable lens? If so, is it the megapixel difference how they can tell? If they can’t tell, does anyone have any good advice for a comparable comparison?

And, if not (to the last question), does anyone know of a decent site that I may have missed that has the camera cheaper? Whatever I get, I’m stuck with, and can’t return it (I don’t know how to sell things online…and don’t have time to try to figure it out…if I can’t find a buyer in the paper, I’m stuck).

Yes, I know I’m stubborn, and I’ll be accused of being cheap, but the point is that as important as my education is (this is a really high ranking school), keeping food in my daughter’s stomach, a roof over her head, and heat in our home is the ultimate goal here. Plus, I have a lot of dental work to get done this year because I’m in agony here. I just don’t have that sort of money to spend.

Yes, I know I sound bitter…and I guess I am. Just fed up with the fact that even "Christian" schools act like you’re dirt if you put your child’s needs above their financial gain. :(
Kayley: I will check into it, but I doubt the school I’m considering has rental programs. It’s an online college.

Pfotoace: I’m not going for mass communications, but rather communications with a focus in writing/English communications. It’s a 2 yr. program, and only one photography class. The other course just uses software to edit the pictures I took in the first class.

She Ta: That’s too expensive…a camera, no matter how "good" should not cost twice as much as a car payment, and I really don’t see any quality difference, as long as it’s not one of those keychain digitals.
mjt004: Thanks for the links. I hate to admit it, but I was banned from EBay because a "friend" of mine stole my account password and used it to sell products he didn’t own…he received payment and never sent products or sent shoddy junk. So, now I can’t use EBay, even though they claim they believed me that it wasn’t me who did it (the shipping address came from his home). They banned me as a way of making the ripped off buyers happy.

so i need a SLR or SLR-like camera for a class im taking. I know nothing about cameras but i think i would rather have an SLR because its obviousy better and i know im going to have this camera for a very long time, but money is an issue. I dont want to spend more then 0. in fact id like to stay away from 0 so does anyone know what kind of camera would be good for me? It has to be a manual DSLR. if its not possible to find one under 0 then my other question is how do SLR-like cameras compare? do you think it would be good enough for me to use? I want a good one and I want to stay in the 0 range. please help and thank you in advance.
again i want to point out i need digital. there will be no film.
and its not so much of a photography class. im an artist. its photo for illustrators. im going to be using these photos as references for my work so that i dont have to worry about copyright issues and all that.

so, im an artist and i need a camera to take pics with then sketch so i can put together a good portfolio for my senior year. im only a high school junior with a need for a good but cheap, reliable digital SLR camera. i don’t care if it is used. any suggestions? websites?
thanks!

Can someone point me in the direction of a cheap digital SLR camera? It doesn’t matter if it’s new or used. By cheap I mean 0 or less. I have a point and shoot and it’s been okay for a while but I’m ready to move on.

Please don’t say e-bay or any bidding website. I don’t want to bid on it.
