I have always used Canon for P&S cameras, so I own nothing but SD memory cards. I want to buy a Canon brand of digital SLR now, but don’t want to use a new type of memory card. After some research, it looks to me like the xSi is the only one that is an option for Canon – would that be correct?
I’m in a photography class in high school right now but we use film SLR’s, but i still want to buy digital one. I wouldn’t use the digital one for the class but just to practice becoming a better photographer. Should i wait till the end of the semester when the class is done or buy the camera now?

could you please tell me what is the best dslr you have ever used priced under US$ 1500. and why did you find it so good. my second question is what is the best focal lens you have used for portraits. and does this image stabilizer lens really makes the difference taking pictures?
I have been trying to capture rain using my Nikon D80 camera with various differnet lenses but not too successful at it. ANy suggestions?
I shoot film, but sadly it has become too expensive for me to continue. I want to get a SLR digital camera just for the fact that in the long run it’s cheaper and faster to go digital. I have never shot digital before (I used to be one of those who vowed never to use digital). I was looking at the Olympus PEN, but I herd that it is difficult to change aperture and other things on it. Any suggestions would be great, just remember this is a photographer on a budget.
What has been your experience? Is the camera worth it? I’m seriously looking into purchasing this as I upgrade from film to digital and looking for any feedback. Thanks!
i have a nikon n55 film slr and i’m looking to buy a nikon d70 or d80. i have two lenses, one of which is a 70-200mm (af). both the n55 and d70/80 use a ‘g’ lens mount but i’m wondering if there are disadvantages to using a film lens on a digital camera. thanks in advance!
To clarify, I mean film home movies like the ones you see on youtube and similar sites using a digital SLR?
