Hello fellow YA-ers.
I am looking for general pricing for my horse photography. What my basic package includes is 1-2 hours of playing around with horses and humans, basically filling up my memory card. (500+ pictures) Then sorting out good vs bad and putting it on a CD (50-470 images) for the owners use with some rights (use for stud ad, sales ads, and various other printings) while I can still use the images for my webpage and gallery. I use a digital SLR with multiple lenses.

The other option is to pay a small sitting fee (aka for me to come out and run around and take pictures) and then directly buying the images from me.

I was curious as horse people, what would be reasonable prices for you?

oh, and to check out my current work http://www.fadedoak.com/horse.htm
Not to self promote, but if you do want a picture I do have some horse & nature photos for sale.

Proceeds from the horse photos will go to Prairie Woods Horse Rescue.

To clarify, I mean film home movies like the ones you see on youtube and similar sites using a digital SLR?

I need some new filters for my D200. Today, at my local camera store, I was told there are new "digital filters" that I should buy (they cost a lot more) instead of the old "analog filters" because digital filters supposedly will work better on a digital camera. The salesperson, with whom I have dealt many times and is pretty knowledgeable, couldn’t explain why, other than to say it was because there are differences in the ways a digital sensor and film react to light. Is there anything to this? Ever since I got a digital SLR, I have been using my old lenses and filters, and have never noticed any issue.

My film SLR is Canon EOS A2 and flash Sunpak 433. Just wondering if that flash unit can be used on the digital SLR from the same Company – Canon Rebel XTi. Please advise, Thanks.

I am about to start a photography course in college in september, and its my birthday soon so my mum said which Camera do i want, I said the Canon E0S D450 but what do use think I should get?

I have never used a digital SLR before.

I’m considering buying a Digital SLR. But my family only can point and shoot. Does a Digital SLR have an "auto" mode that would allow my family to take good pictures without having to manually adjust everything?

Thank you for your time!
Thank you everyone!!

Im looking for a nice Digital SLR, But many of them are out of my price range. At the moment I have about 600 dollars to spend, which may change when I earn more money. I have no idea what brand to get though. I hear Nikons are good, and I had a 35mm Pentax that i used for Fine art photography that served me VERY well for years! Also, I’m not used to the DSLRs since Im used to 35mms but so Im kinda looking for a basic one that’s good for beginners but not so simple that It doesn’t do much or gets me bored.

Any suggestions will help because I’m a little lost and come black friday(SALES!), I don’t wanna spend an arm and a leg or buy something really cheap. THANKS!

I’m going on a year-long exchange to Germany and I want to take a lot of wonderful pictures. The problem I have with my regular digital camera is that I don’t like the quality of my pictures and I have used digital SLR’s before. If I get one which camera would be the best for my money’s worth?
i do plan on using this camera after my exchange. I do a lot of sports photography for my school and I was planning on using it for that afterward.

I’m 16, and recently became extremely interested in photography after taking a class at my high school. My Photography 1 class required that I used a manual SLR camera, so I bought a used Nikon n80 (which is a fabulous camera, in case anyone is wondering) from an older friend of mine that had upgraded. Now, I need a digital SLR for my photography 2 class. Problem is, I know NOTHING about choosing a digital SLR. I’d like either Canon or Nikon. Some suggestions and maybe why these cameras are good choices would be nice. They don’t need to be too expensive/hi-tech since I’m probably going to get a newer one later. Thank you in advance :)
